Eric + Caroline

April 27th, 2019 was supposed to be a sunny spring day filled with luxurious navy fabrics, the most beautiful lemons, and a wedding couple who couldn’t wait for their big day. But instead, April 27th, 2019 gave us snow… not spring. Guess what happened? We made lemonade anyway! Caroline + Eric embraced that day as THEIR day and we ran with it, lemons and all. Mother Nature never even saw it coming.

After these two said their “I Do’s” at the same church that I ended my wedding season with last year, the lovely St. Anthony of Padua, we headed to the reception at the brand new Rockford Bank + Trust Pavilion in Rockford! If you’ve never been to this venue, it’s LITERALLY a Charleston, SC ALL WHITE DREAM. I mean, this wedding venue has high ceilings with hanging chandeliers and the most beautiful fireplace that looks out onto the golf course. I could shoot here for d a a a a y s. Don’t worry, I got you… there’s a link to one of my new favorite venues at the end of this post. So go check it out!

Now, back to the snow. Yes, I wore my Birks… no, my feet didn’t freeze… yes, my Birks are trashed now but I knew what I was getting into before the wedding so I took my old Birks from last wedding season. (RIP my friends!) Haha! But in all seriousness, the super heavy flakes paired with high winds was PELTING us and the bridal party in the face so we decided to take a few shots of the super awesome bride + groom and head onto the party bus and take some cool photos at Legacy inside Giovanni’s AND OH MY GOSH AM I GLAD WE DID. I absolutely loved the photos that we took there and I can’t wait for you to see them! Take that, snow. 😉

At the end of the day, Caroline told me that one of the reasons why she wanted me there for her wedding day was because I could bring her out of her shell and make her laugh when she was feeling stressed. That statement was enough of a reason for me! I’m so thankful that I was able to make her feel comfortable and relieved when the weather decided to play dress-up as winter. The last thing any bride on her wedding day deserves is to be stressed about anything… so thank you, Caroline, for trusting me!

Eric + Caroline, congratulations again on your incredible wedding… thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me to be a part of your most precious day. It means the world to me. I wish you both the most amazing of marriages + the happiest of ever afters.

Love, Sara
