Valerie + Erik

People are constantly placed into + removed from our lives for reasons beyond our comprehension. Valerie (who I call Vali) was one of those people who was placed into my life as a new co-worker when we both started working at LongHorn Steakhouse as servers. I am so thankful that I can call her my friend. She is so genuine + caring… I just adore her! You know those “forever friends”? She is definitely one of them.

I remember meeting Erik (who we all call Chico) for the first time when he came in to LongHorn to see Vali. You could tell these two had a connection from the second you looked at them! It was so obvious + adorable! Soon they started dating + before I knew it, Chico popped the question! Where? Non other than the amazing city of Chicago (my personal favorite city in the world)! He asked her in the winter outside of the Adler Planetarium along Lake Michigan! SWOON!

Months went by + Chico messaged me asking if we could meet and chat about wedding photography. He stressed that it was a surprise + not to tell Vali. So we met at Starbucks + chatted about the wedding + Chico booked me right then + there (props to Chico for best fiancé award?!) Later, he told Vali the surprise + that brings us to their engagement shoot! Of course, their engagement session was in the amazing city where they got engaged… perfectly fitting for their love story.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your love story… I can’t wait for the “Happily Ever After”.
