May 28th was “the day”… my first wedding of the 2016 season!! And I couldn’t be more excited that my first couple of the year was Christian + Kailey. Christian is so sweet and caring and completely all about Kailey, and Kailey is one of the most genuine people that I have ever met. These two make an amazing couple! They compliment each other so well, it’s incredible!

Christian + Kailey’s wedding day began with me driving out to Apple River, Illinois for what would be an amazing day at Oak Hill Weddings. This was my first time shooting at Oak Hill and let me tell you, I was definitely impressed. The entire setting is filled with old, vintage charm and quaint elegance. It’s. Adorable.

Everything was perfect, except the massive threat of severe weather heading directly for Oak Hill (guess when?) exactly when the ceremony was to be taking place. DEFINITELY not ideal! But there is a light at the end of the tunnel! The clouds just barely let out a fine mist during Christian + Kailey’s “I Do’s” and the monsoon came after the ceremony!! WOOHOO! This is everything we could have hoped for! Kailey’s day turned out to be completely stunning! I mean, just look at those clouds!!

Don’t get me started on how adorable her reception was…filled with white hanging lanterns, gold sequins, and the most adorable little cake you ever did see; Christian + Kailey’s decor was nothing short of breathtaking.

Christian + Kailey, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the privilege and honor of shooting your wedding day and capturing the most valuable memories of your entire lives together. I feel truly blessed to have such incredible clients/friends and I love you both. I wish you nothing but the best in your life together and the happiest of marriages…and don’t forget, never let anyone rain on your parade! I hope you’re having a blast in Aruba on your honeymoon!!! Take pictures for me!
