Last June, I photographed a gorgeous wedding for the lovely Kevin + Jennie Goss…Christine, who just so happened to be Jennie’s MOH and best friend, asked me right then and there if I would email her with information on shooting her wedding a few months later in November. There’s nothing better than clicking with someone the second that you meet them; match made in Photography Heaven! Christine and I met later on and chatted about her wedding and we were off!! Added perk: Jennie was going to be Christine’s MOH!
Theater people are the best…hands down. They are hilarious, always down to have a great time, always laughing…let’s just say there’s never a dull moment; the perfect recipe for a wedding! When I arrived to shoot the ladies getting their makeup done, I spotted Christine and Jennie right away. “Reunited and it feels soooo goooood!!” I couldn’t wait for the day to commence!
Once makeup was done, the ladies started in on the bouquets. I have never seen a bride and her entourage assemble their own flowers before that day, and let me tell you, I really enjoyed it. I think it’s a fabulous idea. Some bridesmaid bonding time + super fresh flowers = great idea!! And as you can see, the outcome was pretty dang awesome, too!
Matt + Christine wanted to have a First Look (remember Kevin + Jennie’s?!) which is something that I always recommend and offer to my couples. If you’re not super attached to the tradition of not seeing each other before the ceremony, then by all means, DO IT! First Look’s are AMAZING and totally worth it!! When my day comes you better believe I will have a First Look. The proof is in the pudding…just look at Matt’s face when he sees Christine for the first time! So perfect. 🙂 After the hugs and kisses were over, it was time for the ceremony. The couple tied the knot on stage at Cutting Hall, a theatre, which was perfectly fitting for the two of them. Once the reception was over, and the sun was setting, we dashed over to the reception where we got some beautiful sunset shots before heading in to the reception. Let me tell you…these two had it all planned out. Christine, already proving to rock some DIY with her amazing bouquets, also made all of the reception decorations!! I was blown away.
Best. Cake. Cutting. Ever. Just scroll down to see…I can’t give it away! And to round off the night, Matt + Christine performed a choreographed first dance! Matt + Christine, I wish you two all the best and many, many years of happiness…you two deserve it. Thank you so much for letting me capture your wedding memories; I enjoyed every second of it!
Love, Sara
