Garrett + Savannah

Savannah + I go WAY back to our college days… Rock Valley College first, followed by Northern Illinois University. I love this girl. She is such a sweetheart! I remember our chats over Chipotle while attending NIU in DeKalb, IL… good memories, lady!! When Savannah asked me to be her wedding photographer, I was SO thrilled!! What’s better than photographing one of your dear friends’ weddings? Umm, nothing! Needless to say, I was honored and flattered that Savannah chose me to be the curator of her wedding memories!

Garrett + Savannah’s September summer wedding was nothing short of amazing! They exchanged their vows in Northern Wisconsin at Savannah’s family cabin and there wasn’t a dry eye during their ceremony. Getting married on her family’s land meant a lot to Savannah, especially because she chose to tie the knot right next to her Grandparent’s first cabin, surrounded by trees, with the water in the background… definitely some sentimental value there!  Once I heard the story about the cabin, I just couldn’t keep myself away from photographing some details against the memories of the cabin. So I hung Savannah’s STUNNING champagne colored, immaculately beaded wedding dress against the vintage cabin and I ADORE the resulting image (don’t worry, it’s in this blog post!) Aside from her amazing dress, Savannah’s florals were BREATHTAKING!! Cream and champagne blush flowers filled the bouquets like none other. I am completely obsessed!!

After Garrett + Savannah’s first-look and wedding ceremony, we took photos on her family’s property before heading to the reception at The Waters in Minocqua, WI where her reception space was set up as a GOLD lover’s paradise!! If you couldn’t guess already, I was in LOVE! Their cake: gold. Their table settings: gold. Their place cards: gold! Everything was beyond lovely! One of my dear friendors, Chelsey, with this little hand, handlettered Savannah’s place cards and they were so beautiful… see the end of my blog post for Chelsey’s and all of the wedding vendor’s information!

Garrett + Savannah, congratulations again on your exquisite wedding… thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me to be a part of your most precious day. It means the world to me. I wish you both the most amazing marriage + the happiest of ever afters.
